Facades-the Kalyug Mantra

Who am i? There are so many men and so many women clubbed into this carcass of bones and flesh.
So much has been amalgamated into this eternally hungry soul to satisfy its libido for appreciation.

Every morning pushing myself out of the comfort of soft pillows and smothering every wish to sleep for two more minutes, i begin the ritual of daily ablutions and force out of my mind every sublime thought of last night. The thought of each task awaiting me for the present day bombards my brain hitting just the nerve which i recognise as the mother of tention.

i don the garb of a corporate women for my 9-10 meeting. i also wear her toughness which the herd of intellectuals in the corporate world believes suits me (emotions already removed in bathing). The meeting was successful. Am i happy? Of course iam. The very herd of intellectuals bares testimony to it. They saw the 32 bare flanks as i parted my lips.

In my routine 8-8 job iam a submissive cat doing all i can so as to enhance the company's scope and vision. Oh yes, my vision too cribs about the pair of branded and beautiful glasses it has to carry the whole day. i tried lenses but that was worse becuse then this duo of sparkingly dull pupils complained about anonimity. Hysterical with my suppression twice they dropped the artificiality into the bathroom sink as i washed my face.

Well it is one by now, lunch time- time for tete-e-tete with office colleagues. They observed that i have a beautiful smile. i wonder whether my teakwood framed mirror ever complimented me? Did i ever give it a chance to see what lie beneath the coated lips.

Today i requested my bald intelligent boss for a half day's leave to watch a rugby match. Here iam in the veneer of a sporty woman . Looking at the athletic macho body of my favorite player, the flame of a woman rekindled in my breast. But what do i see ? The team i patronise (without finance) is losing. Every artery and every vein in my carcass tried to reach to my Maker and beat a drum to His ear. Oh God please make my team win. Yes God heard it. i did it. Poof! for three whole minutes i felt like a savitri of sorts.

Returning home from the rat race, as i popped into my room, i saw my fish awaiting me. Seeing its mouth move in that reiterating fashion making one feel that it says" mom, mom ,mom", the motherly instinct in me arose. i dashed towards the desk where its food is kept. Like a simpleton counting stars i kept looking at it satiating its appetite.

Home from the day's work iam now my own boss. iam to myself that bald intelligent boss of mine. This facade is my favorite one among all i tried throughout the day, a corporate woman ,a submissive cat, a beauty conscious nerd, a patron of rugby, Savitri of Kalyug and most recently a mother. Now iam myself, the most self fulfilling image.

Night accosts me. i ponder if i should sleep early today drenching all my worries into my soft pillow. Then maybe tomorrow i wouldnt have to beg my duties for two extra minutes of sleep, may be i'll have a more peaceful mind and hence different thoughts (pleasant ones hopefully) and therefore different facades for tomorrow bringing a cessation to this vicious circle of facades. May be. May be not.
